Travelling to the UK
Please be aware that you need a valid passport to travel to the UK. ID cards are no longer accepted.
How to get here
If you’re flying to the UK, the closest airport to Tunbridge Wells is Gatwick Airport. If you’re driving and taking the Eurotunnel or ferry, make sure to book well in advance as prices do go up the closer it gets to the date. From the Folkestone Eurotunnel terminal, it’s about 40 minutes to an hour drive to Tunbridge Wells. If you’re taking the train from London, please be aware that services stop earlier than normal on Sundays, so please do check the latest trains you can take to go back to London. The wedding party ends at midnight, with cabs available to return to your accommodation.
Where to stay
We recommend staying in Tunbridge Wells or the surrounding areas, including Tonbridge. Train services to London don’t run very late on Sundays, so we do not recommend booking a hotel there. There are plenty of hotels, AirBnb and B&Bs in the area, but prices do go up the closer it gets to the date so to keep costs low, book as soon as possible.
On the day
The ceremony starts at 2pm, with guests welcome to arrive at the venue from 1pm. After the ceremony drinks and canapes will be served on the lawn, after which we will sit down for the wedding breakfast from 4pm. The party will move to the dancefloor at 7pm (and we expect you all to put on your dancing shoes!). Last dance will be at 11:30pm, after which cabs will be called to take you back to your accommodation. If you are coming by car, there is plenty of parking space at the venue.
Dietary restrictions
Please let us know your dietary preferences and any restrictions you have so we can let our venue know.
Dress code
We expect you all to show up in blue, white and red to honour the Dutch and French flags. JUST KIDDING. We’d love to see you in your smartest spring attire, but please do wear whatever you’re most comfortable in.
Gifts
We don't have a gift registry, however, if you want to offer us a gift, we would love a contribution to our honeymoon. There will be a gift table at the wedding, or you can send us your contributions here.
